  1. Hi Alus and students,
education opens up more options... and more options is better than one or none. It's good that you have a special day dedicated to raising awareness about importance of education. Are all kids able to go to school in Sierra Leone?
In Slovenia we have mostly public schools (no tuitions). Only primary school level (ages 6-15) is officially compulsory, which means that parents need to send children there. Most students of course continue education also after primary school at different secondary schools (ages 15-18), and later many also at higher education levels (ages 18+). It is very difficult to get a job without proper education these days...

  2. Hi Alus,Sasa,Tamara and students,

In New York education is a must. All students attend school when they are 5 years old and continue through secondary school. After secondary school college is available.School is free until college time.At that point students
must get a scholarship which would enable them to continue with free education. If there marks weren't high enough they must pay for college. This is costly. To attend a good college is very expensive and not everyone can do it.Some parents don't have the money to afford the tuition.

Today lots of students seek jobs to help pay for tuition. The problem with that is there isn't enough time for studying. Some students
don't go to college because they can't afford to.

All students need to attend school here but it is unfair that some can continue while others can't.

A day dedicated to the importance of education is a day well spent.Great work Alusine.

  3. Dear Sasa,
you are right "education opens more options" in Sierra Leone, not all
kids go to school caused they can not afford the cost of learning.
The level for the kids to attend school here is (ages 6-11) primary
school,(ages 12-15)Junior secondary and (ages 16-18) senior secondary
    school and 18+ university.
Here also it very difficult to get job, if you don't get standard
education, even when you get, it is so hard for one to acquired job,
presently we are seriousely under going unemployment crisis.Graduiates
are so many in the streets of Freetown with out job.

This is one major reason that caused some people not to know the value
of Education. becaused after they compliect their education they
expect get job and paid. some spend complect 5years with out getting
    job after graduating.
These caused the young generation less motivated in their process of learning.
(one will asked himslef, if i educate i except to get a job and be
paid, but there is no job. whlie should i waste my time all in
learning at the end i have no job is it right for me to be educate?).
but we are still sentized and motivated them to know the rightof education.
    Thanks foe sharing
    hug

  4. Dear Alu and students, Sasa and Lynn,

Education gives more freedom to a person. It enriches a person's opportunity in finding a job. Nowadays almost any job requires some level of education. Fighting illiteracy in the country should be the primary goal of the government. Only educated people can better the country's welfare.

    Tamara
