A letter to Lynn's Kids

Hello, dear friends,
How are you? We learned about your efforts to get education and we admire you. We heard a lot about your country from our English teacher and we think life is not very easy for you.
We wanted to tell you something about the place where we live.
Russia is the largest country in the world.
We live in Novosibirsk which is in Eastern Siberia. Some people tend to believe it is right in the centre of our large country.
The climate in Siberia is severe in winter which lasts a long time. Snow starts falling and it gets cold in November and it melts in and then green glass appears but it's still cool. Summer can be very hot or cool, as it was this year. Winter is a beautiful season, because the ground is covered in white blanket of snow. Children make snowmen and in parks you can see snow and ice sculptures. There are slides in parks and yards and children go down the slides and have fun though it is very cold.
We celebrate New Year in winter. We put up a New Year tree and decorate it. We have a fireworks display.

Some words about our class. There are 27 students in our class. We have been learning English for 6 years, but we still make mistakes. Our teacher encourages us to learn English better by organising projects and communication with students from other countries.
Our class is like a family. A few days ago we went to a park together where we played volleyball, ran races, competed in a cooking contest, sang songs and so on. We had a lot of fun at the outing. It was our first Tourist Festival outing.
We would like to learn more about your school life, about your free time, your friends, and so on...

On behalf of students of class 8a
